Gameplay/Character System
Each playable character in God of Stackers has their own damage table, garbage delay, combo table and Ultimate. Your choice of character changes which clears are worth going for, so it shapes your whole playstyle.
New characters are obtained through Recruitment. Each character has their own loadout.
Reading a damage table[edit]
Each kind of clear has an attack value and a defense value:
- Attack: lines sent per line cleared, before phase multipliers. A quad with attack 1.0 sends 4 lines.
- Defense: incoming lines cancelled per line cleared, before phase multipliers.
See Stacking Mechanics for how cancelling, combos and phases work. The full table for every character can be viewed in the in-game character menu.
Playable characters[edit]
| Character | Rarity | Role | Garbage delay | Specialty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Taki | A | Classic Duelist | 4.5 s | Quads and downstacking |
| Yuuko | A | Combo Specialist | 2.5 s | Combos |
| Evangeline | S | T-Spin Specialist | 3.5 s | T-Spins |
| Ayano | S | Late Power | 3.5 s | Phase 6, Perfect Clears |
Taki[edit]
Taki is the default character. He has the longest garbage delay of any character, which gives him the most time to deal with incoming attacks.
| Clear | Attack | Defense |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 0 | 1.0 |
| Double | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Triple | 0.75 | 0.5 |
| Quad | 1.0 | — (passthrough) |
| T-Spin Single | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| T-Spin Double | 1.0 | 1.0 |
| T-Spin Triple | 1.5 | 1.5 |
- Quad Passthrough: Taki's quads never cancel. They always send their full attack, even with garbage in his meter.
- Combo only builds from garbage clears.
Ultimate (Phase 3, 40 s cooldown): needs garbage in Taki's meter. Clears 50% of his incoming garbage and reflects 200% of the cleared amount back at the opponent as messy garbage.
Yuuko[edit]
Yuuko has the shortest garbage delay, but the strongest combo table in the game.
| Clear | Attack | Defense |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 0 | 0 |
| Double | 1.0 | 0.5 |
| Triple | 1.0 | 0.5 |
| Quad | 1.0 | 1.0 |
| T-Spin Single | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| T-Spin Double | 1.5 | 1.0 |
| T-Spin Triple | 2.0 | 0.75 |
- Color Combo: Yuuko can build combo by clearing rows that contain no garbage. These clears add less Burst than garbage clears.
- Her combo table peaks at long combos (around 11–14).
Ultimate (Phase 3, 60 s cooldown): for 20 seconds, increases attack and cancel power by 25% at Phase 3, or 50% at Phase 4 and above.
Evangeline[edit]
Evangeline has weak regular line clears, but her T-Spins are the strongest in the game.
| Clear | Attack | Defense |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 0 | 0.75 |
| Double | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Triple | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Quad | 0.75 | 1.0 |
| T-Spin Single | 1.0 | 2.0 |
| T-Spin Double | 2.5 | 3.0 |
| T-Spin Triple | 3.0 | — (passthrough) |
- Her T-Spin Singles send messy column garbage.
- TST Passthrough: her T-Spin Triples never cancel and always send their full attack.
- Defensive Combo Only: her combos can cancel incoming garbage but never send attack.
Ultimate (Phase 3, 60 s cooldown): holds back all incoming garbage until the Ultimate ends, so none of it lands on her board in the meantime. At Phase 3 it lasts 15 seconds. From Phase 4 onwards it lasts 35 seconds and also grants 35% attack and defense.
Ayano[edit]
Ayano is the only character who can reach Phase 6, which makes her strongest late in a match.
| Clear | Attack | Defense |
|---|---|---|
| Single | 0 | 1.0 |
| Double | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Triple | 0.75 | 0.75 |
| Quad | 1.0 | 1.0 |
| T-Spin Single | 0.25 | 0.5 |
| T-Spin Double | 1.0 | 1.5 |
| T-Spin Triple | 2.0 | 1.0 |
| Perfect Clear | +4 lines | +4 lines |
- +1 Max Phase: she can reach Phase 6, where her attack multiplier is 3.0×.
- Her Perfect Clears add 4 extra lines of attack and 4 extra lines of cancelling.
- Combo only builds from garbage clears.
Ultimate (Phase 3, 20 s cooldown, 10 s from Phase 5): Ayano has a Focus gauge, which fills from Perfect Clears, T-Spin Doubles, quads and other spins. Her Ultimate is a toggle that uses up Focus while it is on. While active it:
- grants 75% extra cancel power and 2 extra seconds of garbage delay,
- grants up to 75% extra attack, scaled by how much Focus she has left,
- doubles her T-Spin Double damage and her Perfect Clear bonus.
It ends when her Focus runs out, or when she turns it off to save the rest. Focus does not fill while the Ultimate is active.
