God of Stackers is a free-to-play browser game that combines a competitive block-stacking puzzle fighter with a visual novel story and gacha-based character collection.
Core loop[edit]
Matches are played on a standard 10-column board with familiar falling-block controls (hold, a 5-piece next queue, SRS rotation, hard and soft drop). On top of that, every match is a fight between two characters:
- Clearing lines sends attack to your opponent or cancels garbage headed your way. How much depends on your character's damage table. See Stacking Mechanics.
- Phases rise as the match goes on, strengthening your attack and defense and unlocking stronger abilities.
- Abilities are equipped in a loadout of three, plus a character-specific Ultimate. See Loadout System.
- Characters each have their own damage table, garbage delay and Ultimate. See Character System.
A player loses by topping out, when their stack rises past the top of the board.
Game modes[edit]
- Story Mode
- The main visual novel campaign. Chapters mix story scenes with battles against characters and Erasure monsters.
- Practice
- A free-play sandbox for training against a bot, with options to change difficulty and set your phase.
- Challenge
- A series of challenge levels. Clearing one unlocks the next.
- Stamina
- An endurance mode against a stream of opponents that grow stronger as you defeat them, with personal and global leaderboards.
- Ranked
- Matchmade 1v1 matches against other players. See Ranked and PvP.
- Custom
- Private rooms for playing against friends.
Progression[edit]
New characters and abilities are obtained mainly through Recruitment, the game's gacha system. See Gacha System.
