During a training session at the academy, Yuuko and Evangeline get into a contest over who can take down training drones fastest. Their instructor, Ms. Kimura, interrupts them with an urgent mission: monsters have been sighted near a village in Nagano, close to an old laboratory that was shut down after an Erasure disaster five years earlier. With the Erasure Field spiking and contact with the locals lost, the two are sent in as the highest-ranking students available.

After dealing with a small monster in the forest, the pair reach the ruined laboratory. Yuuko accesses a damaged terminal and recovers fragments of the lab's old research before a Corrupted Serpent attacks. Afterwards the two split up to sweep the lab's two wings. Yuuko defeats a Corruptor feeding on the lab's computers and salvages what data she can, before regrouping with Evangeline at the entrance once the Erasure Field fades.
