== Core loop ==

Matches are played on a standard 10-column board with familiar falling-block controls (hold, a 5-piece next queue, SRS rotation, hard and soft drop). On top of that, every match is a fight between two characters:

* '''Clearing lines''' sends attack to your opponent or cancels garbage headed your way. How much depends on your character's damage table. See [[Gameplay/Stacking Mechanics|Stacking Mechanics]].
* '''Phases''' rise as the match goes on, strengthening your attack and defense and unlocking stronger abilities.
* '''Abilities''' are equipped in a loadout of three, plus a character-specific Ultimate. See [[Gameplay/Loadout System|Loadout System]].

A player loses by topping out, when their stack rises past the top of the board.
